After a kindly donation from the newly weds and being told to buy ourselves a few drinks and an old Oscar Wilde saying came to mind…”We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.”

Think more couples should do this (where they are allowed) as many couples see their pets as part of the family…as long as they don’t upstage the bride and groom!

What make’s our “York” and “Paris” packages so popular
July 14th, 2008 · No Comments
Our wedding clients often ask us what is the difference between our “Gretna Green” and our “York” and “Paris” wedding photography packages…Well one of the main differences is how we can shoot your wedding, with our budget package(the GretnaGreen) we just bring one camera with one lense, whereas with our York and Paris packages we will bring two cameras and 4/5 lenses and we will literally change lenses for individual shots as we see them happening.
The shot below was shot using an 8mm fisheye at a recent local Gisborough Hall wedding…

Battery Grip for Panasonic DMC L10
July 10th, 2008 · No Comments
Ansmann of Germany had just launched a compatible battery grip for the Panasonic DMC L10, I’ve been reliably told that we can expect in the UK in late July/early August 2008.
The main benefits is to make it far easier to shoot in portrait mode and the increased energy supply, it should be good for about 1000 shots ( I currently bring my battery charger with me to weddings and re-charge it during quieter moments!).There is a link below to Ansemann’s website

Waiting for that decisive moment…
July 10th, 2008 · No Comments
Was getting some funny looks from our other wedding photographer who couldn’t work what I was about to shoot.
I will explain…
I had noticed the waiters at this Gisborough Hall wedding were exiting the kitchens at short intervals and from a certain vantage point I would be able to line them up, next the tricky part was to work out which table they would visit next (without asking them as this would spoil the moment).
Having worked this out I adjusted my shutter speed to add motion blur to the shot and took up position, after 2-3 mins they came out to deliver the food to the waiting wedding guests, for a split scond I had them lined up in the frame and the shutter goes down…and the moment is captured
Sometimes the decisive moments is awhile in the waiting…
